Kisses

These are called "Kisses." Tiny beads that grow in size when you soak them in water. They are used as soil substitute for indoor or water plants or just fillers for glass bottles or vases.

Cosmos

"Excuse me while I kiss the sky." - Jimi Hendrix

Another one of my favorite flower to photograph, and the most photogenic, I guess.

Cosmos are native to Central America and Mexico. They grow quickly to a height of 4-5 feet. Brightly colored single or double flowers include white, pink, orange, yellow and scarlet.

These photos were taken at the Sisters Oblates of the Holy Spirit Novitiate House, Tagaytay City, Philippines.

Taal Volcano

Enduring but Unpredictable

Gritty.Grungy.Blue.

Taal Volcano is a complex volcano on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. It is situated between the towns of Talisay and San Nicolas in Batangas. It consists of an island in Lake Taal, which is situated within a caldera formed by an earlier, very powerful eruption. It is located about 50 km (31 Miles) from the capital, Manila. It is one of the active volcanoes in the Philippines, all part of the Pacific ring of fire.

The volcano has erupted violently several times, causing loss of life in the populated areas surrounding the lake, the current death toll standing at around 5,000 - 6,000. Because of its proximity to populated areas and eruptive history, the volcano has been designated a Decade Volcano worthy of close study to prevent future natural disasters. It was thought to be named as "a volcano inside a volcano" because many believed that the lake that circles the volcano was once a crater or mouth of a volcano. - Wikipedia

Howdy Spidey

There was a big spider in one of our jobsites and I couldn't resist to take a snap of it. Its web was attached to a pine tree so I took the photo from the ground against the white sky.

San Simon, Pampanga

We visited an abandoned poultry farm in San Simon, Pampanga. The area was flooded and soon became swampy, all that remained from the previous structure are the concrete posts.
